Website research of other businesses
These are the businesses that I have taken inspiration from for my own business website, which is a theatre company. Therefore all the businesses I have looked at are theatre companies. These have been used as inspiration because they are local or well known theatre companies that have a lot of traffic to their websites.
We have taken the inspiration for the merch and online shopping from Frantic Assembly because this is where they sell all of their merch and this would help spread the word of our business to other people who will see the hoodie's and the shirts. This is also why we want to make the t-shirts into a 'uniform' for the theatre group because if we go out on trips, then more people can know who we are and what we do with the students. This would be a good way for us to market ourselves to others who are not in the local area where we are having the business.
We have taken inspiration from Highly Sprung by the basic layout of our website. This is because it is very easy to follow, especially if there are people who are interested in who we are and what we do, but do not have a good understanding of how to follow websites. This layout has been checked and we have been told it is the best way for us to have our website because it is an educational setup and everything is going to be under certain labels so everything is really easy to find.
We took inspiration from The Keeper's Daughter because of the different colours on the website. This catches your eye and draws you in, whereas the other two are mainly white with a few images on there. The Keeper's Daughter is neon and very bright, ours is going to be gold's because this links with education and getting a 'gold star'. This has the feeling of achievement instead of a plain white background that is very simple and basic. We want to make a statement with our website and the colours we have chosen will do this really well.
