Feedback from peers

Overall, the feedback we got for our business was very positive. The overall concept was well loved and it was called 'inclusive' by almost everyone. This is important for our business to be inclusive because there are some theatre companies that do not allow over 17-18's to join their theatre groups, but we want to make a place for everyone to come and enjoy themselves. The idea was called unique too, which is what we want. We did not want the business to be something that all theatre companies do, but where the students can gain different experiences and opportunities rather than just acting.

Our mission and vision statement were also well delivered. This is because it is achievable to get and realistic. We do not want to set ourselves a goal which is not fully achievable for our business and may give those who are joining false hope about what we are going to do and show them. 'It suits your enterprise ad is very achievable,'. This shows that we are on the right tracks for building a successful business.

The canvas and business plan were really important for us to get feedback from because it is the baseline for our business and how it is going to work. It is 'reasonable' and 'in-depth'. This is good for our business because we have thought about everything that we need to start our business, except that we have not fully looked into venues. I emailed Paul Johnson who works at Britannia Pier, and he told us that the theatre is not usable during the winter months, one because of the location, it would not be busy at all, and two that because the building is so old, it is not fully equip for those months where it is not in use. It would be about £1500 a day, for the equipment, 3 members of staff and safety cover. This is going to be more expensive because there is not sound and lighting equipment there either, therefore we would have to hire everything to use and this would mean we need to look at more funding and grants to look at this as a place that we could use for our company. This would also come under finances because we would now have to look at where we can raise the right amount of money for us to be able to hire out a venue and all the necessary equipment plus health and safety checks, allowing for the children to come to our venue, so all of this really needs to be looked at soon to make sure that we have a place where we can do the workshops we intend to do.

The logo has gone through several changes and this is good to show how much we have developed our logo from the beginning. It shows exactly who our business is and what we do, having a spotlight representing acting, but also tech. We could think about making a second logo for the merchandise that we have designed as well. This is because at the moment, the logo is quite big and would not suit being on something like a shirt. The font also needs looking at because it is not bold enough to be able to be read from a further distance. Both of these things will be trialed and noted down to see how it could work for our business.

The website design has been praised really well, the colour scheme and overall layout is definitely one that we can stick with. There is a few minor details such as using an actual shopping basket icon for on the header, and making some space on each page for a big image and then the writing underneath and on the side. This is because it will give some more images to the website and make it more exciting.
